Description

Summon unique creatures and use them to fight and defeat your opponent in a duel of high strategic intensity. But be careful, because at any moment your opponent can use one of his Mindbugs to take control of your monsters. The work of the legendary Richard Garfield, creator among many other games of the famous Magic: The Gathering or King of Tokyo, Mindbug is a card game for two players, from 8 years old, that allows games of between 15 and 25 minutes.

Inside the box you will find 52 cards with the most extravagant creatures you can imagine. Do you want a bear fused with a bee? Or an orangutan with the head of a lion? Here they are. To start playing, just shuffle and deal. Each player receives 5 cards, ready to play in the hand, and 5 more to be reserved face down. This set of 10 cards forms the creature squad that you will send into battle in order to defeat your opponent. Next, each player takes three more cards face down that will serve as life point markers. Finally, each player takes two Mindbug cards.

On their turn, players can do one of the following actions: play a card or attack with a creature. If they choose the first option, they must lower one of the cards from their hand to the playing area. The opponent must then decide whether to use one of his Mindbug. If he decides to do so, he will take control of the creature and resolve its effects as if he had just played it from his hand. In return, the active player who has lost control of his card can play it again one turn. On the other hand, if the player decides to attack, he must choose one of the cards in the playing area to fight. The opponent must select one of his creatures to block the blow or lose a life. If two monsters face each other, the one with the higher power value will win. And if one of the players loses 3 life points… the game is over!

The cards that make up the game have different abilities that adapt to infinite strategies. Frenzy allows a monster to attack twice, stealth means that only other stealthy creatures can block it, hunters can attack opponent’s cards… In a single game both players only use 20 cards (10 each), so there will always be creatures left out and, therefore, the combinations of monsters will be unique and random in each duel.

Mindbug combines the accessibility and balance of any card game with the depth of a strategic card game. The result is a duel of skill with a bizarre twist that is unlike any other card game you’ve tried.

As easy as it is to learn and start playing, Mindbug will blow your mind with the number of combos it offers. One of the most special mechanics of the game allows you to control your opponent’s cards, so even the most veteran players will have to adapt to every situation if they want to
